Update with GAG and Planning for Zombie Games!!!!

Hello everyone!

This semester is a bit slow with the Lab situation and now with the Student Senate. The student senate doesn't have enough people to make a complete group, this means that until they can get enough people, any and all clubs can NOT turn in any paper work (i.e. charter forms/applications). So until then, all we can do is wait and hope that the dates don't slip our grasp for our Zombie Games to take place this semester. The perfect dates for Zombie games would take place in the last week of October with Halloween on a Thursday!! Fridays is usually a dead day for students to not show up in the school so the Zombie Games take 4 days to plan around. These dates may not be possible so if anyone has any ideas for another date, please email any officer or post a comment here.

OFFICERS FOR FALL 2013
The following people have been chosen for the this Semester's fall GAG members.Anyone can be part of GAG as long as you know your way around a MAC or plea your case to join. There shouldn't be any problem with students wanting to join any school group/function, that's as long as your a student with any of the UNM branches. We can work with you if you work with us. So for now we have about 5 members and could use more when Zombie Games rolls around.

AIGA TRIP! WHO'S COMING?!

Hello to one and all.

I'm going to be short about this. We need names for the AIGA trip next month. We have arranged to have a deadline to stop taking names for the trip on APRIL 13, 2013. Arrange what you need to in order to make this trip. Remember, this is MANDATORY FOR PORTFOLIO STUDENTS! NO EXCEPTIONS! For those that are in other classes besides the portfolio class, you are welcome and encouraged to go to have a early idea on what to expect for your next trip to this event when you have Portfolio development.

If you are interested in going but want to go to santa fe your own way, that is perfectly acceptable. just understand that if you are going on your own way, you are to provide everything on your own. GAG will not help you on any level if you go on your own, understand that.

We will need names. It does not matter if you are going on your own or if you are going with GAG, we need names to see who will be attending and not attending. A head count if you will. If you are not going, still come to the lab and see either, Myself (Rylen), Travis or Michelle and let us know immediately so we can write your name down.

Please make an effort to contact us either through personal contact in the lab or through email. Remember you can post here to let us know.

We hope to see you within the next few days.

This is your Vice-president, Signing off.

UPDATE!!

This is the last call for the trip! After 6:00 pm, We will not be accepting any more names!

Contact us today ASAP! if not, then no trip for you.

Update from Chad

Good Day People,

This meeting taking place today will not be reconveening. I don't think a lot of people will show so I am here to tell you all what is happening.

1. The Mother's Day Fundraiser will NOT be happening. The month of May is extremely short for us to do anything other than the AIGA Trip that will be taking place on May 2nd.

2. Chad is advising all DDM Students to attend this Portfolio Conference. All students taking Portfolio Development this semester MUST go on this trip. No ifs/ands/or buts, You WILL HAVE TO GO.

What I am asking out of all DDM Students to do, is to send an email to any Executive Members of GAG (Michelle Eriacho, Rylen Sheche, Travis Pinto, Danielle Largo). We will need to count people who will go so we know how many rooms to book for an over night trip. The Basic Itenarary is Wednesday we leave for Santa Fe, then go to the reviewing in the morning of the next day. We may also ask some people to car pool with their own vehicles. We would also like to hear from each of you if you have a means of transportation available.

There is nothing planned for the month of March nor April. We are advised by Art to try to do something in April like an April Fools Event/Sale. We need your input for ideas. This is a group effort and we all need to contribute ideas!

Please email us ASAP. Chad Needs Numbers to book rooms!

The HireEd Portfolio Review, sponsored by AIGA NM, is taking place on Saturday, May 4th. As you are reading this email, we're working on gathering distinguished members of the design community to review portfolios.

This year's portfolio review is free and open to the public, and will be a more casual portfolio showcase–where aspiring designers will present their work in an open-book style. Our volunteer reviewers will walk around and provide feedback informally. We're hoping this environment will be more of a comfortable, one-to-one session. We're also in the process of discussing the timed aspect of the event, so that everyone can roam as they please.

We're hoping that you'll join us for the event. Please be on the lookout for a follow-up email with more details.

For questions, please contact: education@newmexico.aiga.org. We look forward to seeing you there!
